Privacy Definitions
- “consent” means voluntary agreement with what has been proposed or done and can be either express or implied.
- “disclosure” means making information available to third-parties.
- “express consent” means consent that is given explicitly and can be either verbal or written.
- “implied consent” means consent that can reasonably be inferred from the actions or inactions of an individual.
- “personal information” means information that identifies you as an individual. Personal information that we collect and use and in the course of our business include your name, age, gender, marital status, home address, personal phone numbers, personal financial records (including bank and investment statements), income, and any other information that may be necessary to fulfill our obligations to you. Note that, under the Act, personal information does not include the name, title, business address, or business telephone number of an employee of an organization.
- “Weigh House” means Weigh House Investor Services Inc. and any subsidiaries, franchises, or related companies that offer Weigh House services and will be referred to throughout this Privacy Policy as “Weigh House”, “we”, “our”, and “us”.
- “the Act” means Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act, which may also be referred to in this Privacy Policy as “PIPEDA” and/or “Privacy Legislation”.
- “use” means the handling of information within an organization.
