Ken Hawkins is an investment professional with over 25 years’ experience in both private client and institutional investments. Prior to joining Weigh House, Ken was responsible for a $500 million portfolio with the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, one of the largest and most respected pension funds in Canada.
Ken was also a top-ranked quantitative analyst with Scotia Capital and Deutsche Morgan Grenfell. In these roles, he regularly consulted with many of the largest money managers in Canada, providing equity research, advice and insights into capital markets. Ken was a member of the TSE Index Committee and Scotia Capital’s Investment Strategy Committee, which determined asset mix policy for the firm.
As an investment advisor with ScotiaMcleod and Nesbitt Burns, Ken provided investment advice to Canadian families. At Weigh House, he applies the investment principles, strategies and insights utilized by institutional money managers for the benefit of average investors and high net worth families.
Originally from Winnipeg, Ken graduated with Bachelor of Science and Master of Business Administration (MBA) degrees from the University of Manitoba. He has completed the Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) level 1 and 2 curriculum, and the Canadian Investment Manager (CIM) program. Ken co-authored ‘New Rules of Retirement’ with Warren MacKenzie.
